Adopt a American Shorthair

American Shorthair Cat

Spooky the Cat needs a home

Here's the scoop on Spooky--SCF's newest kitty friend! I got a call from my daughter's friend on Monday night that there was a cat in her neighborhood that was living in the drainage sewer next to her house. She said there was something wrong with his leg because he was limping. She asked if we could help. Armed with a carrier, towel, kitty treats, and a deliciously smelly can of sardines, Bree and I went the next afternoon to see if we could find him. The kitty treats got a meow from within the sewer. The sardines, however, got a whole cat. With patience and lots of Bree's help, we tricked him into the carrier and off we went to get him some help. When we got him in to see Dr. O (LOOOOOOVE HER!) this is what she said--he was attacked by a dog or a coyote and it had grabbed his leg. He had a couple of puncture wounds and scratches, etc. plus a fracture in the same leg. No wonder he was limping!! Dr. O said he was the sweetest cat--almost like he knew they were trying to help him. He has been thankful ever since. He follows us around constantly and can't get enough attention. He's a drooler too--ssshhh...don't tell him I told you. I tell you what, though. I am smitten already. He's such a charmer! So...that's his story. :D
